Firefly Beach Cottages Negril, Negril

I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The rooms were comfortable and had a super sea view from the big balcony, but climbing the steep stairs to get there was tiring. The service from the owners to the maintenance staff was excellent, but the dining experience, especially paying extra for breakfast, was a letdown.

Staying at the hotel was a mixed experience for me. The rooms had a dreamy and romantic feel with the four-poster bed and breezy curtains, but they definitely need some modernization and updates, especially the electrics. The proximity to a busy road and other noisy activities at nearby resorts was a downside for my peace and quiet.

The small birdhouse-style rooms had a charming touch with a small balcony, yet the smell of smoke lingered from before. The service was exceptionally helpful, especially the young man who went above and beyond to show me unique, off-the-beaten-path locations. The location, with its local Jamaican vibe and proximity to Seven Mile Beach, was great, but there were some issues around the Firefly Cottages nearby. The dining experience, even after paying extra for breakfast, was not ideal as it took a while to be served.

I absolutely loved staying at this hotel. The rooms were amazing, the service was top-notch, and the location was perfect for what I was looking for. However, the dining experience left a bit to be desired. Overall, a great stay!
